The unit I was replacing was a 20 year old clamp-on type, and even though I also had an older optical type, I was never sure if it’s accuracy.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt was love at first sight! I love the brightly colored housing and the addition of pre-drilled mounting holes is helpful. The thermal scanner has an internal battery eliminating one of the power cables off the pump table. The one cable connecting the display to the sensor is sleeved with fiberglass so as not to burn. It also has an illuminated readout, something that I always wished for.
