Core and Coil Neon Transformers
Core and coil neon transformers are rugged, reliable, and time-tested power supplies for neon lighting. Widely adopted in the early 20th century following the introduction of neon signs, they quickly became the industry standard and remain trusted today for their durability, compact size, and ability to power long tube runs.

Commonly used in neon signs, clocks, custom lighting, ozone machines, and specialized equipment, core and coil transformers deliver stable high-voltage output at an economical cost. Their simple copper-winding design minimizes failure points, making them more dependable than electronic transformers, which rely on complex circuitry.

Core and coil transformers are also the best choice for neon animation and dimming. They handle flashing with ease and are fully compatible with external dimmers—unlike electronic alternatives.

CC3508 - 3,000V 8ma Core and Coil Neon Transformer

The CC3508 is a compact 3,500V, 8mA core-and-coil transformer, ideal for small neon signs, art displays, and neon clock neon transformer replacements. Built for reliability and long service life, it’s especially well-suited for indoor or protected applications. With it's lower mA rating, this model is perfectly suited for in home use because the brightness it produces is slightly dimmer than say a neon beer sign brightness.

One of its standout features is that it cannot be underloaded—a common issue that occurs when too little neon tubing is connected to a core and coil neon transformer. With the CC3508, short lengths of neon tubing operate without any problems, making it a flexible and dependable choice. CC5010 - 5,000V 10ma Core and Coil Neon Transformer

The CC5010 is our most popular core and coil model in the lower mA. We have used this model in our neon sculpture bases and neon clocks since the 1980s because it is so reliable and compact. With an output 5,000V, 10mA, it is ideal for small neon signs, art displays, and neon clock neon transformer replacements. With it's lower mA rating, this model is perfectly suited for in home use because the brightness it produces is slightly dimmer than say a "neon beer sign brightness".

NOTE: This neon transformer has two high-voltage output wires, RED and BLACK. When used with neon tubes, it doesn’t matter which wire connects to each electrode because the output is floating. However, for other applications (such as ozone generators or grounding setups), the RED wire should be treated as the hot (higher potential) lead. For safety, always assume both wires carry dangerous high voltage and handle with care.

The two Primary 110vt Input wires are not neutral or hot specific. Either wire can be hooked up to the hot wire and the other wire connected to the neutral wire (or vice-versa).
